InnerOptic's 3D Laparoscope systems will allow surgeons to perform minimally-invasive surgery as if they were performing open surgery, providing a view into the body with registered, real-time in vivo imagery that is both stereoscopic and head-tracked.
More recently, InnerOptic has aimed to extend the capability of the system to the detection and localization of cancerous tumors, through hardware modifications and the integration of proven optical tomography methods. When realized, this cancer screening device will offer immediate location and size information about gynecological & colorectal tissue abnormalities, saving the time and expense associated with most other screening techniques. InnerOptic Technology Inc. is a privately held company, incorporated in 2002 and located in Chapel Hill, NC. Our company provides several unique, innovative, and patented or patent pending technologies and is currently developing products based on them. InnerOptic was launched with the assistance of UNC's Kenan-Flagler Business School and has been partially funded via an SBIR grant from the National Science Foundation.
