Pharmacy is the nation’s third largest health profession, with more than 170,000 licensed pharmacists in the United States alone. The need for pharmacists in all areas continues to grow with a recent study by the Pharmacy Manpower Project predicting that by 2020, more than 100,000 pharmacist jobs will go unfilled.
The mission of the South University School of Pharmacy is to serve the public’s healthcare needs by preparing pharmacists to provide pharmaceutical care that improves health outcomes for patients.
The School of Pharmacy strives for excellence in teaching, scholarship, professional service and community service. Faculty provide students with the knowledge, skills, abilities and values necessary to become a successful practitioner. While at South University, students are encouraged to foster a desire for life-long learning, engage in scholarship, learn about the process of research and to develop an understanding of the value of interdisciplinary care.
