The Mission of the Navajo Health Foundation - Sage Memorial Hospital is to provide high quality healthcare services to the residents of the area in accordance with the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organization's holistic approach to healthcare, focusing on the patient's physical, social and spiritual well being.
Today, the Navajo Health Foundation is the largest Indian owned and managed organization of its type in the country. Some 68,000 patients are seen at the hospital and outreach clinics each year. The service area covers a territory of 1,800 square miles across the southern mid district of the Navajo Reservation. The Foundation proudly remains a non-profit, non-sectarian and non-government foundation. Hospital funding comes from a variety of sources including the Indian Health Service, Medicare, Medicaid (AHCCCS) and other insurance providers. While multiple funding sources support the Foundation and its mission, it is the voluntary donations of individuals and private foundations that are vital to the success of our medical mission.
