Scottsdale Healthcare Osborn
Scottsdale Healthcare Osborn is a 337-bed, full-service hospital. It is noted throughout the region as a leader in the fields of trauma, cardiovascular medicine, radiologic technology, neurosurgery and orthopedics. The hospital’s expanded, 55,000 sq. ft. Emergency Department and Trauma Center opened in September 2004. A Total Joint Replacement Center, specializing in minimally invasive procedures, opened in 2006.
The campus is also home to the Greenbaum Surgery Center, Novalis Shaped Beam Surgery Center, Scottsdale Healthcare Wound Management Program, Family Medicine Residency Program and a surgical residency program.
The Scottsdale Healthcare Family Medicine Residency Program provides 24 residents with a three year educational experience. The Center provides medical care to a diverse patient population and its scope of care includes comprehensive family practice, preventive care, and nutritional services. Scottsdale Healthcare Osborn and its allied support systems are used by the residency program along with other educational rotations.
Scottsdale Healthcare Shea
Scottsdale Healthcare Shea is a 405-bed full-service hospital providing medical/surgical, critical care, obstetrics, pediatrics, surgery, cardiovascular and oncology services. All patient rooms are private.
The Emergency Department is a Level II Trauma Center. The Radiology Department offers state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment, including MRI, PET/CT scanning, nuclear medicine, and ultrasound. Also located on this campus are the Piper Surgery Center, Virginia G. Piper Cancer Center, and several medical office plazas.
The Virginia G. Piper Cancer Center offers a wide range of cancer research and treatment services. Through its partnership with the Translational Genomics Research Institute (TGen) and the University of Arizona’s Arizona Cancer Center, Phase I and II clinical trials of new cancer drugs, as well as cancer prevention studies, are available to local patients. The center also houses the Scottsdale Clinical Research Institute and TGen Clinical Research Services.
The Women’s Center at Shea focuses on improving the health of women through education, prevention and the use of screening, diagnostic testing and early intervention. A wide array of services in the Women’s Center includes a 32 room Family Birthing Center and a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Weight management, women’s diagnostics and other specialty services are integral to the center.
Scottsdale Healthcare Thompson Peak
Scottsdale Healthcare’s Thompson Peak medical campus is located near the northeast corner of Scottsdale Road and Thompson Peak Parkway, providing convenient access to high quality medical care for residents of the Northeast Valley.
Scottsdale Healthcare opened its third hospital, Scottsdale Healthcare Thompson Peak, on the medical campus November 2007. It is the Valley’s first new hospital built north of the Loop 101 freeway.
The community medical-surgical hospital opened with 64 inpatient beds and shelled space for 64 additional future beds. Services include an emergency department, inpatient and outpatient surgery and a full range of support services, diagnostic imaging and non-invasive diagnostics.
