Job Description
On behalf of our client, Furst Group is recruiting and evaluating candidates for the position of Director of Pharmacy for BMC HealthNet Plan in Boston, Massachusetts. BMC HealthNet Plan (BMCHP) is a non-profit managed care organization fully owned by Boston Medical Center, a major academic medical center and the largest safety-net hospital in New England. BMCHP provides coverage exclusively for MassHealth-eligible individuals and families.

Boston Medical Center is a private, not-for-profit, academic medical center with 547 licensed beds. The hospital is the primary teaching affiliate for Boston University School of Medicine. With more than 26,000 admissions and 850,000 patient visits annually, Boston Medical Center provides a comprehensive range of inpatient, clinical and diagnostic services.

The Boston Medical Center HealthNet Plan is a managed care organization created by Boston Medical Center to provide coverage exclusively to MassHealth-eligible individuals and families. The Plan currently serves approximately 150,000 members and offers a wide array of comprehensive health and behavioral health services. BMC HealthNet Plan is committed to the delivery of high quality, comprehensive health care services to its members through collaborative initiatives involving providers and members.

The Director of Pharmacy will assume primary responsibility in managing all aspects of the Plan’s pharmacy benefits to maximize member care and effectively manage costs. This individual will provide strategic leadership and vision for all pharmaceutical clinical initiatives. The Director of Pharmacy will coordinate educational programs, provide pharmacy expertise, coordinate support for integrated formulary management, ensure pharmacy programs meet appropriate regulatory and accreditation standards, and measure the quality of pharmaceutical care provided. This role is also responsible for reviewing member, physician, pharmacy and drug utilization reports in order to identify and communicate emerging trends affecting the pharmacy benefits in an MCO environment.
