Job Description
We are recruiting for an experienced professional to join this new, progressive rehab hospital pharmacy team. In this position, the incumbent has overall responsibility in the delivery of pharmaceutical care, adhering to regulatory compliance pertaining to pharmacy laws and national accrediting agencies and budgetary accountability. The Director also provides oral, parenteral, and enteral medications and monitors patient drug therapies and provides drug information.
The scope of responsibilities include but are not limited to:
*Prepare and dispense medications per physician order according to established policies, procedures, and protocols.
*Interprets medication orders - verbal, written, and transcribed to computerized patient medication profiles accurately. Maintains accurate, complete patient medication profiles.
*Compounds and dispenses pharmaceuticals accurately according to physician orders, reviewing each medication order for safety and appropriateness and communicating with the prescribers when indicated.
*Ensures safe, appropriate, cost effective medication therapies for patients according to established policies, procedures and protocols.
*Participates in the development and presentation of orientation, education, and training programs to the pharmacy, medical, nursing, and other staffs.
*Contributes to the quality and ensures effective operation of the department.
*Utilizes, coordinates, and supervises the appropriate leadership skills in delegating, organizing, and educating co-workers and staff.
The successful candidate will have at least 2 years management/supervisory experience-hospital setting preferred. Ability to obtain licensure in both Washington and Idaho required.
