Job Description
The absolute musts for this position must be met and include:
-Bachelor’s degree in electrical/computer science/chemical engineering. -At least 7 years of controls engineering experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in a pharmaceutical/food process plant. -Programming “hands-on” experience with a range of control systems and human machine interfaces (HMI) is required (systems include Delta V/Allen Bradley PLCs/ Siemens PLC / Modicon PLCs / Wonderware HMI/ Intellution HMI, WinCC HMI, Industrial Networks: DH+, ControlNet, ProfiBus, Modbus+, ethernet, batch management software – INBATCH/Delta V and the OSI PI database. -Proficient in Microsoft Project, Microsoft Office, Windows NT/2000 and network administration. Good communication, technical writing, team work and leadership skills. -Familiar with a variety of process control concepts, practices and procedures.
Position Overview: Support manufacturing control systems in a pharmaceutical GMP environment. Design and implement changes to control systems. Changes require adherence to pharmaceutical validation and change control standards. Support control system improvement, expansion and upgrade projects. Troubleshoot and diagnose control system problems working closely with manufacturing, maintenance, control technicians, and metrology. Provide automated process expertise. Participate in a rotating after-hour process control support function. Perform and document hardware/software modifications, and system functional specification updates. Develop as-built technical documentation for existing systems and equipment: electrical/control drawings and control network diagrams. Prepare standard operating procedures for new and existing control equipment. Support software life cycle and electronic records / electronic signature compliance efforts. Contribute to developing improved and robust control strategies for manufacturing processes. Required to rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals with minimal supervision. Provide secondary support for all plant process control systems (Modicon 984/Quantum, Allen Bradley SLC, Siemens S7/Win CC, Wonderware InBatch/HMI, Intellution Fix 32, OSI PI, Win NT/2000/2003, OSI PI database and networking).
