Job Description
POSITION TITLE: Director of Pharmacy
POSITION LOCATION: TN
POSITION SUMMARY: Looking for a true leader to manage all pharmacy operations for this 400+ bed state of the art hospital. The Director will be responsible for the management of 2 pharmacy managers, 26 staff pharmacists, 7 clinical pharmacists, and 25 pharmacy techs.
The Director of Pharmacy is responsible for planning, organizing, administering and directing the operation of the Department of Pharmacy Services. Coordinates all clinical and operational activities of the Pharmacy with those of other hospital departments and works within the overall policies set forth by the governing body. Ensures compliance with all State and Federal regulations.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Current Tennessee Registered Pharmacist License. Minimum of Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy degree. Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD degree) and/or M.B.A. or M.H.S.A. is highly desirable. Minimum of 4 years of hospital pharmacy experience. Three years of previous managerial experience preferred. Demonstrates leadership, critical thinking and time management skills. Good communication skills (written and verbal) and computer literacy is required.
