Aurora Memorial Hospital of Burlington (AMHB) has an excellent opportunity for a full-time inpatient pharmacist in a friendly and fun team environment. In this setting, you will NOT have to struggle with Medicare Part D, or insurance claims. The Pharmacists enjoy an excellent rapport with Hospital Physicians who are readily accessible and open to pharmacy recommendations.
Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to, Kinetics (Aminoglycosides, and Vancomycin), IV to PO program, Creatinine Clearance dosage adjustment, participation on an Interdisciplinary Outcomes Team with emphasis on Beer’s list medication reductions for the Acute Care for the Elderly (ACE) unit, and providing drug information to hospital, and clinic staff.
AMHB utilizes Cerner Software which allows the pharmacist easy access to nursing electronic medication administration records, clinic and hospital lab results and medical records, while doing order entry/checking, and clinical activities. AMHB also has Pyxis dispensing units, and Pyxis Profile and Pyxis Connect. Immediate future plans include implementation of CPOE (Computerized Prescriber Order Entry) in 2007, as well as decentralization of pharmacy services.
