Job Description
Our Client a growing regional healthcare system seeks a Pharmacy Clinical Coordinator to join their dynamic team.

Position Summary:

As the Clinical Coordinator of Pharmacy Services you will work directly with the Director of Pharmacy and Management team to support the mission, goals and objectives of the department and the hospital. You will be responsible for coordinating clinical pharmacy services, directing and overseeing the application of clinical pharmacy programs & interventions, and the overall clinical pharmacy care throughout the hospital. Act as the chief clinical liaison between the pharmacy, medical staff, nursing, and other hospital departments. Provide training, guidance, clinical development, and Pharmacy staff education.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for training, guidance, clinical development, and Pharmacy staff education.
  • Actively support the quality improvement process through on-going development and monitoring of performance improvement indicators.
  • Support the management team to ensure delivery of competent and efficient pharmaceutical care and drug delivery at appropriate service levels.
  • Actively participation in committees, councils, and task forces in order to promote pharmaceutical care goals and patient safety.
  • Ensure maintenance of compliance with standards and requirements of the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO), South Carolina Board of Pharmacy, Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), and other regulatory agencies.
  • Complete competency evaluation profiles for necessary staff support to assure proper direction of services.
  • Exercise leadership in matters related to use of medication for patients of all ages.
  • Provide pharmacy-related education to Pharmacists, technicians, other health care practitioners, and the public.
  • Act as the chief clinical liaison between the pharmacy, medical staff, nursing, and other hospital departments.
  • Coordinates clinical pharmacy quality assurance, performance improvement, and medication management-related initiatives.
  • Coordinates affiliations with Pharmacy Schools; maintains and oversees student experiential training programs.

Position Requirements:

  • Graduate of an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy with a Pharm. D. or other advanced Pharmacy degree.
  • ASHP-approved Pharmacy Residency required
  • ACLS and BPS Certification preferred.
  • Licensure in the State of South Carolina or eligible
  • At least 3 years providing acute clinical pharmaceutical care
  • Knowledge of Anatomy, Physiology, Pharmacology and aseptic technique
  • Ability to effectively supervise technical personnel.
  • Ability to utilize and adapt to technological innovations and electronic information systems.
  • Able to communicate at all levels.
