Job Description
Our Client a top 100 rated a health care system seeks a Pharmacy Clinical Coordinator to join their dynamic interdisciplinary team.

Position Summary:

As the Clinical Coordinator you will work directly with the Director of Pharmacy and Management team to provide Clinical direction to pharmacy staff. You will be responsible for training, guidance, clinical development, and Pharmacy staff education.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for training, guidance, clinical development, and Pharmacy staff education.
  • Actively support the quality improvement process through on-going development and monitoring of performance improvement indicators.
  • Support the management team to ensure delivery of competent and efficient pharmaceutical care and drug delivery at appropriate service levels.
  • Actively participation in committees, councils, and task forces in order to promote pharmaceutical care goals, patient safety, and pharmacoeconomics.
  • Ensure maintenance of compliance with standards and requirements of the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO), Kentucky Board of Pharmacy, Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), and other regulatory agencies.
  • Complete competency evaluation profiles for necessary staff support to assure proper direction of services.
  • Exercise leadership in matters related to use of medication for patients of all ages.
  • Provide pharmacy-related education to Pharmacists, technicians, other health care practitioners, and the public.

Position Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of pharmacy
  • Pharm.D. preferred
  • Licensure in the State of Kentucky or eligible
  • Acute hospital / clinical residency and experience preferred
  • At least 2 years clinical experience providing pharmaceutical care in a hospital pharmacy setting
  • Knowledge of Anatomy, Physiology, Pharmacology and aseptic technique
  • Ability to effectively supervise technical personnel.
  • Ability to utilize and adapt to technological innovations and electronic information systems.
  • Able to communicate at all levels.
