Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for supporting and participating in the departments clinical programs aimed at enhancing the quality of drug therapy.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Responsible for supporting and participating in the departments clinical programs aimed at enhancing the quality of drug therapy.
2. Ensures the cost effectiveness of drug therapy by reviewing medication regimens and recommending appropriate action.
3. Actively contributes to the advancement of the department’s clinical services.
4. As a member of the Pharmacy staff, participates in all dispensing functions of the department as scheduled.
5. Collaborates with hospital personnel and physicians to ensure optimal patient care and promote a positive working environment in the department and hospital; promotes guest relations to clients.
6. Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION REQUIRED AND/OR PREFERRED: (list required and preferred separately) BS in Pharmacy required. Doctor of Pharmacy preferred.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION: (list required and preferred separately) Current license to practice pharmacy in the State of Texas required.. Board certification in Pharmaco-therapy preferred.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED OR PREFERRED: (list required and preferred separately) One year experience in a clinical pharmacy setting. Hospital experience preferred.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES: Individuals must possess the knowledge, skills, and abilities or be able to explain and demonstrate the ability to perform the essential functions of the job, with or withou reasonable accommodation.
