Job Description
POSITION AVAILABLE: Pharmacist – Manager
IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Director of Pharmacy
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s Degree (BA or BS) in Pharmacy from a four-year college or university, or Pharm. D. degree
- Three to five years experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Current state Registered Pharmacist license required.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manages all daily operations of the pharmacy and ensures delivery of patient services, employing company standards and expectations.
- Implements and supervises the development of specific pharmacy services and new programs.
- Plans, coordinates and directs all activities related to the compounding, dispensing, delivery, receipt, and handling of medications and associated products within regulatory guidelines.
- Ensures appropriate pharmacy staff scheduling for ongoing operations, special events, and other changing conditions.
- Interprets physicians’ prescriptions and enters prescriptions and patient data into computer system. Checks for drug interactions and allergies.
- Provides Pharmacy Technician prescription information and supervises filling of same.
- Counsels patients over the phone and in person. Conveys pertinent information regarding use of medications and potential interactions, Ensures patient understanding of the medication treatment program.
- Consuls with other health care professionals and conducts research to ensure that all services are in the best interest of the patient and conform to established professional standards and applicable state laws.
- Directly supervises employees in the Pharmacy Department. Direct supervision responsibilities include hiring, firing, disciplinary action, performance, reviews, coaching, developing work plans, training, and providing work direction.
WORK SCHEDULE: Salaried Position
