PURPOSE: This position is responsible for coordinating all operational aspects of the resident, intern, and student programs in supporting the academic mission for the pharmacy department.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Coordinates the operational and administrative functions required to support the pharmacy residency program.
Manages the pharmacy intern and student programs including documentation, tracking, and ensuring that all academic and compliance requirements for participation in the intern and student programs are met.
Serves as the official liaison between the Kaiser Permanente pharmacy department and the experiential training coordinators at the schools of pharmacy and technician training schools.
Develops and maintains relationships with the colleges of pharmacy and technician training schools.
Serves as the liaison with the schools of pharmacy for scheduling and attendance at career day events, coordinates Kaiser Permanente attendance at these events and participates in recruiting of new graduates.
Serves as a member of the Pharmacy Student Advisory Committee, the Pharmacy Residency Advisory Committee and other committees as needed.
With the Student Advisory Committee, designs and implements Kaiser Permanente core learning requirements incorporating those established by the schools of pharmacy.
Identifies and coordinates continuing education programs for pharmacy staff.
Coordinates and maintains the affiliation agreements and certificates of insurance with the schools of pharmacy and technician training schools.
Keeps current on Boards of Pharmacy requirements for technician continuing education, certification, and registration.
Keeps current on residency and program accreditation requirements.
Coordinates the scholarship program.
Administers post clerkship rotation evaluations where applicable.
Maintain a roster of qualified preceptors and sites with the pharmacy department
Assures compliance to all regulatory rules and regulations specific to:
Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA)
State Boards of Pharmacy
HIPAA
Sarbanes-Oxley
Medicare part D
Other regulatory/oversight entities as necessary
Performs other duties as directed.
Minimum Requirements
Relevant Years of Experience
· Three years of experience as a pharmacist with experience working as a preceptor and/or in academic affairs required.
Minimum Requirement
Education and/or Classes:
· BS in Pharmacy or PharmD required
License, Certification and/or Designation:
· Licensed in the State of Maryland, Virginia, or the District of Columbia as a Registered Pharmacist required.
