Job Description
Supervises and mentors staff in the respective clinical pharmacy service. Develops, coordinators and implements clinical pharmacy services necessary to monitor and assess the therapy of members requiring the service. Develops, coordinates, implements and assesses quality outcome programs with respect to activities of the service. Develops the roles and responsiblities of the clinical pharmacy specialist, clinical pharmacist and pharmacy technicians depending on the scope of the service. Supervises and mentors clinical pharmacy specialist and clinical pharmacist depending on the scope of the service. Interviews, seleects, orients, instructs, evaluates and disciplines staff. Schedules/assigns work and approves/monitors time-off requests; monitors vacation, sick leave, wage, hours worked and salary reports. Creates a climate that encouges professional development, individual creativity and productivity. Collaborate with other health plan and medical gourp departments to develop, implement, assess and assure quality and process outcome measures. Develops and participates in research and scholarly activities depending on the scope of the service. Maintains all polices and procedures affecting the service.
Doctor of Pharmacy degree with residency and/or fellowship in appropriate specialty area depending on the scope of the service.
- Licensed (or eligible for licensure) to practice pharmacy in the state of Georgia.
- One (1) year experience in clinical pharmacy required; two (2) years preferred.
- Working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet and database applications.
