POSITION SUMMARY: Develops, implements, and evaluates regional clinical pharmacy programs for patients, providers, and pharmacists. Maintains a clinical pharmacy practice to impact patients at high risk for drug-related problems in area of expertise. Educates providers, pharmacists and other health care professionals. Accountability for creating a culture of compliance, ethics and integrity. Responsible for ensuring ongoing compliance for area(s) of assigned responsibility. Maintains knowledge of policies and procedures and performs in accordance with Kaiser Permanente's Principles of Responsibility and applicable regulatory requirements and accreditation standards as they relate to the assigned department. Responds appropriately to observed fraud or abuse.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Pharm.D. Degree with a specialty residency and/or fellowship in the appropriate area of practice. Prefer licensure as a registered pharmacist in the state of Colorado and experience in drug education or clinical pharmacy. As a condition of employment, required to become a Board Certified Pharmacotherapy (Psychiatry, Oncology) Specialist within three years of hire. Demonstrated ability to design, coordinate and implement a drug education program in the Colorado region, to include research studies in addition to educational programs. Knowledge of research design and methodologies, statistical techniques, and applications of drug utilization reviews. Effective verbal, written and presentation skills are required in communicating with physicians, pharmacists, and health plan personnel.
Must authorize a D.E.A. drug screening.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES Coordinates clinical pharmacy programs, evaluates drug utilization appropriateness, and develops drug education plans and strategies to promote cost-effective prescribing in area of expertise. Develops and maintains a clinical pharmacy practice in the appropriate specialty environment. Provides drug information to all health care providers as well as members. Provides continuing education and staff development in-services for pharmacists, physicians, and other health care providers. Critically reviews the literature to provide updates on drug therapy. Supervises, directs, and assists regional clinical pharmacists. Participates in School of Pharmacy activities. Develops and participates in research activities.

STARTING SALARY RANGE: $7628-$9734 (Hourly)
