Job Description
Specialist Pharmacy Support - Opening Team:
Understands, can practice and teach, the technical aspect of pharmacy distribution.
Understands, can practice and teach, pharmacy sterile compounding including USP 797.
Understands, can practice and teach, pharmaceutical purchasing best practices.
Perform at a high level when dealing with Automated Pharmacy Systems (Pyxis and others).
Understands completely the Cardinal Health best practice for performing an inventory and can advise direct report of necessary resources for successful completion.
Possesses a strong understanding of Cardinal Health Pharmacy Management Regulatory Best Practices as they pertain to Federal DEA Regulatory requirements and can assess whether or not they are being carried out.
Administer Pharmacy Performance Assessments (PPA) in association with the Sr. Project Manager (if available) and develop action plan to assist client hospitals in meeting those standards.
Possesses excellent communication skills and will use those skills on a routine basis to keep direct report up to date with openings and other special projects.
Perform other job-related tasks assigned by the individual to whom the position reports.
Qualifications
Education or Equivalent:
High school diploma or equivalent. College courses desirable but not required with at least 5 years of pharmacy technician experience. Preference may be given to individual with National Pharmacy Technician Certification.
Knowledge/Skills Requirements:
Demonstrated ability to think strategically
Excellent planning, organizing and leadership skills
Experience with automated pharmacy delivery systems, especially Pyxis
Excellent verbal, written and computer (Microsoft Word, Excel, other)
Strong customer orientation
Demonstrated ability to facilitate change
Knowledge of pharmacy management
Physical/Mental Requirements:
Must be able to travel extensively and be flexible enough to change schedule as needed
Must be able to handle stress and perform in a fast-paced environment
