Job Description
Under the immediate direction of a qualified licensed Staff Pharmacist, the Nuclear Pharmacy Technician draws, dispenses and packages radiopharmaceuticals in accordance with the regulations of the State Board of Pharmacy. This role has responsibility for:

Preparing prescriptions by typing labels, entering information into a computer system and obtaining Staff Pharmacist approval
Reconstituting medication according to applicable state laws and obtains Staff Pharmacist endorsement
Counting, pouring, and drawing doses either in a syringe or vial and obtains Staff Pharmacist approval
Performing quality assurance tests on instruments and pharmaceuticals in accordance with Federal, State, Company and manufacturer guidelines
Receiving, documenting, and storing incoming and outgoing pharmaceuticals according to the Department of Transportation and Company guidelines
Maintaining computer inventory and records to ensure proper utilization of materials and accounting for all RAM and Rx drugs
Prepackaging, labeling and maintaining related control records of unit or multiple dose packages pursuant to appropriate policies and procedures
Elutes generator
Receiving standard diagnostic prescription orders from Nuclear Pharmacy Services customers, with the exception of those orders prohibited by regulation or Nuclear Pharmacy Services policy
Performing general laboratory and facility clean up
Performing clerical and administrative services including maintenance of daily delivery records, preparation of receipts and reports preparation, and maintenance of billing records
Performaing radiation safety tasks including well checks & efficiencies, air monitoring, fume hood flow checks, room wipes & surveys, waste management, vehicle surveys, and meter checks when necessary or required
Performing other job-related duties as required to ensure in accordance with the goals and objectives of the department are met


Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent
3+ months training as a Nuclear Pharmacy Technician
Successful completion of Nuclear Pharmacy Technician Certificate Program
Good oral and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills
General reading, writing, retention, analytical, comprehension and math skills
Ability to operate computer software programs (ie, word processing, spreadsheet, etc.)
Ability to perform duties in a timely and accurate manner
Ability to apply aseptic techniques
