Job Description
The Nuclear Staff Pharmacist provides entry level high-tech pharmacy services by preparing, dispensing and distributing quality radiopharmaceuticals to medical care providers on a timely basis. This role has responsibility for:

Receiving telephone orders from Cardinal Health clients Preparing and dispensing radiopharmaceuticals in keeping with the prescription and Company, State and, Federal regulations Performing quality control tests, and packages the doses for shipping to the customer in keeping with the prescription and Company, State and, Federal regulations Providing follow up service to the client or health care provider on an as-needed basis in keeping with the prescription and Company, State and, Federal regulations Assaying medications to determine identity, purity and strength; performs white blood cell labeling; enters daily elutions, kit preparations, and incoming inventory in keeping with the prescription and Company, State and, Federal regulations Verifying physical inventory with computer records Maintaining lab equipment by performing checks and tests on a regular basis Supervising Customer Service Assistants and/or other laboratory employees in the absence of the Pharmacy Manager Delivering radiopharmaceuticals to Cardinal Health customers, when necessary Performing any other duties as required to ensure a safe and efficient pharmacy

Qualifications BS in Pharmacy or PharmD required Ability to obtain a valid Pharmacist's license in the state in which the pharmacy operates Prior Authorized User certification is preferred but not required. NUCLEAR TRAINING PROVIDED Authorized User: As defined in part by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, an individual who has completed a minimum of 700 hours of training in a structured educational program consisting of both didactic training and supervised on the job training in radiation physics, instrumentation, radiation protection, chemistry, math and radiation biology. This is usually divided into two sections: 200 hours of formal course work and 500 hours of supervised experience. For current pharmacists, the requirements are the same plus a preceptor statement of training from an Authorized Nuclear Pharmacist. Ability to demonstrate courteous and dependable service to others Ability to communicate effectively with customers when taking prescription orders, identify potential problems with orders to circumvent possible misadministrations, drug interactions, etc. Ability to work as part of a team. Ability to effectively relate written and verbal communications and documentation procedures Demonstrate a commitment to the professional ethics adopted by the pharmacy profession Cardinal Health offers a competitive compensation and benefits package including 401K and tuition reimbursement.
