Job Description
On-Call Evenings 2-10:30pm
Job Details: The Pharmacy Technician I routinely assists the pharmacist in the preparation, filling, and delivery of medications. They serve as a liaison to assist in the appropriate and timely delivery of information and pharmaceutical products to the customer. The successful candidate will have to demonstrate competencies during the orientation process. They must demonstrate proficiency with Automated Dispensing Cabinets, CII Safe, Pharmacy computer system patient fills, and compounding non-sterile pharmaceuticals during their probationary training period. If the staff member cannot demonstrate proficiency within 90 days, they may be terminated.
The Pharmacy Technician I must maintain their Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certification at all times. Failure to maintain certification and licensure with the Arizona State Board of Pharmacy will result in disciplinary action up to and including termination.
Basic Education: High School Diploma or GED
Basic Eligibility: Be at least 18 years of age
Licensed as a Pharmacy Technician
PTCB Certification
Basic Experience: 6 months pharmacy technician experience (Uncertified trainee experience is acceptable)
OR
Pharmacy Technical School diploma
Basic Field-of-Expertise (if applicable) Knowledge of pharmacy and medical terminology with ability to read and interpret physician orders
