Job Description
This job reports to the Director of Pharmacy

Relocation is negotiable and travel is not required.

This is a Full-Time position, working 1st Shift.

Job Skills/Requirements
Position Overview:
The Pharmacy Supervisor is responsible for managing daily pharmacy operations. They are charged with the goal of continuous quality improvement, and must provide leadership and supervision to staff. This individual is also responsible for administrative duties assigned by the pharmacy director to assist in the overall success of the pharmacy department.

With responsibility for the assigned operational and clinical supervision of the department, this leader facilitates the development and delivery of excellence in service practice by evaluating and coordinating the services delivered. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to supervise the services appropriate for the patient/family population being served. Integrates the department's services with the hospital's primary functions.

Supervise and oversee the functions and staff for areas of responsibility.

Maintains efficient workflow on assigned shift including accurate and efficient medication order profiling.

Ensures compliance with clinical initiatives, including required documentation.

Participates in projects as assigned and produces quality output.

Actively participates in supply chain initiatives and ensures department compliance with programs, including therapeutic interchange and formulary compliance.

Ensures compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards. Provides timely follow up to corrections of any identified deficiencies.

Implement training programs to meet the training needs of his/her staff. Ensures the orienting, training and professional development of employees, including annual competencies.

Conducts annual performance appraisal as assigned in accordance with Norton Healthcare's standards.

Communicate effectively both orally and in written form with internal and external customers of the departments supervised.

Develops and implement policy and procedures consistent with Hospital, state and federal regulatory guidelines.

Ability to effectively and accurately profile medication orders and dispense medications.

Assist in budget preparation and evaluations of financial trends as appropriate.

Assists with student, intern and resident rotations as assigned.

Scope:

Manages 25-45 employees.

Position reports to: Audubon Hospital Pharmacy Director.

Position Qualifications:
Education:

Graduate of an accredited school of pharmacy
Licensure:

Kentucky Pharmacist License
Experience:

Minimum of 1 year hospital pharmacy work experience
