Position Description:

The Pharmacy Technician II provides technical expertise, knowledge and ownership in assisting in the total quality management of the distributive functions of the pharmacy in compliance with department policies and state and federal regulations and under the supervision of a pharmacist.

Skills/Requirements
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE :
Required: High School Diploma or equivalent; Six month total experience as a hospital pharmacy technician with experience in sterile product preparation, computer order entry, review of physician orders and direct interaction with nursing staff.

LICENSED/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED? YES
Required: National Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB) or pharmacist-intern participating in a board-approved internship program
Preferred: ACPE-approved certification in sterile product preparation
