Job Description
Pharmacist
Will work, under the guidance of the Director, in a collaborative manner with Administration, Director of Nursing, Medical staff and the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee. Responsible for the primary daily functions of the pharmacy department which includes inpatient and outpatient control and drug distribution throughout the hospital, IV admixture program, inventory control, drug information, patient education, departmental Performance Improvement activities and Medication Use Review monitoring. Will also be responsible for supervising and assisting pharmacy technicians. Assist in the evaluation, selection, purchase, use and safe administration of all pharmaceuticals in this hospital. Contributes to educational programs for departmental, nursing, medical and administrative staff as directed. Must be able to work different shifts as well as weekends and holidays. Demonstrates a professional manner and possesses good communication skills. Must be able to take call, work under stress, and withstand long periods of standing.

REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE: B.S. or higher degree in Pharmacy from an accredited university. Minimum 6 months as staff pharmacist in an institutional setting, with unit dose, IV and TPN background. Computer entry skills recommended. Demonstrates professional manner and possesses good communication skills. Meets minimum physical requirements for job functions. Current Texas Pharmacy License
