Pharmacist
Day/ Evening Rotation / 3 (3-11pm) and 2 (8a-4p). Also work every other weekend.
Duties: Process physician orders to provide pharmaceutical care services by screening orders when entering into the computer profile and reviewing for appropriate therapy. Prepares sterile products including large volume parenterals, small volume parenterals, TPN's, chemotherapy utilizing aseptic technique and monitoring parameters. Modifies, clarifies and verfies medication orders through the interdisciplinary medical team by communicating with practitioners concerning therapy changes. Dispense controlled drugs following the state and federal regulations and hospital policy including proper documentation and maintenance of inventory levels as well as the Diebold dispensing unit for controlled substances. Maintains proper inventory control by monitoring stock levels to ensure adequate drug supplies to maintain pharmaceutical services and expiration dates to ensure quality control. Performs computer operations to enter physician orders, maintain patient profies, generate reports, fill patient medication needs for a 24 hour period, repackage unit does for the "robotic" system. Performs monthly unit inspections by completing the assigned task of inspecting their designated patient care areas and checking the controlled drugs, refrigerators etc. Performs duties in the event of an emergency. Maintains work area by leaving area in a neat and organized manner. Oversee nonprofessional staff including the pharmacy students, assistants and messengers.

REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE: Bachelors of Science Degree in Pharmacy or Pharm D Current or pending State License in practicing state 1-3 Years experience health-system pharmacy experience.
