Pharmaceutics & Medicinal Chemistry provides broad training for careers in the pharmaceutical industry, academia, and governmental positions.
Students may acquire experience in an industrial setting through cooperative work projects or internships with biotechnology or pharmaceutical companies.
For students interested in an academic career in higher education, opportunities exist to gain experience in teaching and administering a variety of laboratory and lecture courses.
Our programs are designed to allow faculty and students to develop close working relationships throughout the student's training while providing a high degree of flexibility in the selection of individual courses of study and research projects.
Pharmacy Practice prepares clinician-scholars who are responsive to pharmaceutical care issues in society. Programs of study leading to the M.S. and Ph.D. are built upon the specialty areas of Pharmacy Practice faculty to provide a unique interdisciplinary program which will meet each student's special educational objective. Graduates of our programs are prepared for careers in academia, pharmacy practice, and industry.
Because our graduate student enrollment is limited, faculty and students develop close working relationships. Research projects utilize resources in patient care areas along with a variety of laboratory investigations.
